| If you love to bake but are disheartened by cookies and pastries that burn and stick, you'll certainly appreciate this flexible, non-stick Exopat Baking Mat, often referred to as Silpat. Made in France, the mat promotes even browning without burning, and easy removal from the pan without sticking. To use, simply place the mat on your baking sheet ??? no greasing required. Place your cookies or pastries on top of the mat and bake in the oven as you normally would. After baking, simply remove the mat, shake it clean and store it away until next time. The mat is freezer safe and can withstand oven temperatures up to 580 degrees. Use it over and over - it's guaranteed to last up to 3,000 bakings. |

| I was a little leery of these from the bad reviews of them smoking and burning but decided to give them a try anyway when I found them on special. I've now used them and wish I had more in different sizes. I've used them for cookies and they do help immensely. The cookies brown more evenly and come off so easily! I highly recommend them. |

| This is the first time I have used a nonstick baking mat. It seems to perform as promised, but I haven't used it enough yet to see if it works better than the good non-stick baking pan I have. |

| I love the baking mats. I would love more, but the person selling only had three and I gave two to my daughter. Definitely recommend the product and seller. |

Why does my smoke alarm keep going off? : Powered by Amazon Posted on 2008-09-15 |

I just moved into a new apartment, and bought this for all my baking needs. It was great at first! Stuff really won't stick to this guy. It was a little difficult to get the brown spots that... some common ingredient in baked goods... causes off, but in general I was happy.
But every time I baked, even when nothing burned, my smoke detector would go off! At first, it was obvious to me that it was the electric oven; it was just too hot and I was used to gas.
But that didn't seem right. Everyone else can bake with an electric oven and keep the smoke alarm from going off! ...It must be the baking mat. Sure enough, it was. The next time I baked frozen Pilsbury cinnamon rolls (which sent the smoke detector into a high-pitched rage last time) with nothing but aluminum foil on my cookie sheet, everything was fine. Needless to say, I am disappointed. |
