| This is a Casio basic watch. However, do not be fooled by the cost. This is an excellent timepiece. Bought it for my wife. She enjoys the accuracy and loves that purple background face. |

First Impression: This watch was absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful blue background and glow in the dark facing on the numbers and hands. Simple and stylish, the design and the position of the digital screen made this watch a winner. The band material is excellent.
Usage & Functions: Clock stayed accurate (with government clocks) to a point that was scary for a watch of this price. Over 6 months, it fell behind the NIST.gov site's time by only 5 seconds or so. Amazing. Now I know there are clocks/watches out there that can keep within 10 seconds of accuracy over a period of 10 years, but you really can't compare those with this, can you? The price range and class is entirely different. It's like comparing a cheap pair of sneakers with a sports car and saying the sports car lets you travel faster. The only disappointment about the functionality of the watch was that the digital screen could only show one thing at a time. I'm not complaining, but it would've been kinda nice if you could select a setting that made it bounce back and forth between showing the date and the digital time. But that's just me being fussy.
Ease of Use: Here is another thing that kept the watch from getting 5 stars. It's a bit of a hassle to use the first couple of times, particularly setting it. You have to set the digital clock, AND set the analog clock SEPARATELY. And setting the analog is kind of annoying. You have to press a button that most people CAN NOT press without a pin, and each quick push of the button advances the analog clock by 20 seconds, and holding it advances it by 20 seconds continuously. Kind of annoying, especially if you have to move the analog clock 12 hours. But not too bad. It's also a bit awkward moving around the functions the first few times around, but once you've done it once or twice, you learn it, and it actually is fairy simple. It's just that you only have 2 buttons to do so many things. The manual that is included will solve 99% of your problems.
Overall: The watch is brilliantly designed, with a few knicks. It provides all the functions most people would ever need in their lifetimes, and the battery is supposed to last a few years, and is replaceable. It's fairly sturdy, and it IS waterproof. I have actually taken this watch diving, but I only went about 10 feet underwater. I don't know if the 50 meter (~140-150 feet) rating will hold true or not. I like this watch a LOT, as it is not a big bulky watch, which is what the market today is primarily composed of. It is a simple, smart, stylish, and well designed timepiece that can be used by anyone from a trendy-teenager to a well-organized business-oriented adult attending a formal party. When this watch breaks for me (or the strap does, which I find happens to most of my watches after about 5 years or so), I'm probably getting another one of the same kind. There's no reason to move to something else. |

| This watch was a little thin and looks kind of like a toy, but it is a really good sport and can handle getting hit and is a good basic watch for this price. |

Broke case : Powered by Amazon Posted on 2008-05-27 |

| This watch broke within 3 days where the pins attach to the case. the case is made of resin that is not strong enough for a sports watch in my opinion. It broke while cycling. I had another identical watch that lasted two months then broke when skiing. I think it's the hand folding" back" action while gripping something that did it. My wrist is normal, I'm 5' 7". Otherwise I like the style and functions. |
