| Wine need never be wasted. A lovely decanter in lead free crystal, the Vacuum Wine Decanter is a modern marvel of style and convenience. The world's first decanter with preservation technology, itâs a wonderfully convenient piece of glassware. Inspired by the Apollo Spaceship, Ed Kilduff of Pollen Design has brought us a true must have item. Gone are the days of precarious funneling back in to the bottle before preserving. When you are ready to preserve wine left in the decanter: (1) insert the Vacuum Stopper Assembly into the decanter (2) Attach vacuum pump to the Stopper Assembly (3)Remove air with the manual vacuum pump until you reach the âred zoneâ on the Vacuum Gauge. The Vacuum Stopper will hold the seal for days, perfectly preserving your wine for the next serving. (4)To release vacuum and stopper from the decanter, gently pull button from the vacuum vent. Important: Stopper Assembly is designed for use ONLY with crystal decanter provided. Other decanters are not designed for vacuum pressure. Size: 10-½"H, 11 3/4" w/ stopper, 6 3/4" at widest point, 52 oz. For decanting a standard wine bottle |

I purchased this decanter from another seller (not through Amazon) and it came with the 2 piece Metrokane Wine Shower Funnel.
I quite enjoy using this combination and have had great success with the V1. It did take a few minutes to figure out that the center stem has to be pulled up on the stopper prior to pumping a vacuum on the decanter but I haven't had any trouble since.
Since I am the only wine drinker in the house, and like to have a daily glass, keeping my wine fresh was a bit tricky. But now I can decant a bottle, have a glass imediately, save the rest for another day and have it taste just a nice as it did on the first day. So I have used the pump considerably and not had any problems with it nor do I experience any difficulty removing the stopper from the decanter. The vacuum on the decanter has remained for about 2-3 days until I released it to have another glass.
Metrokane does not mention, on the V1 packaging, any type of cleaning process but the Amazon Product Features does say "Wash decanter by hand" so I guess I'll need to purchase a decanter brush. I was hoping it was dish washer safe but it doesn't appear to be recommended.
So, if I were to fault this product at all, like other reviewers I would say that Metrokane's packaging instructions need to be expanded on.
I am very happy with this product and plan to give it for Christmas gifts. |

| How anyone can use this beyond me. The seal between the cap and vacuum device is left to chance. Builds up your muscles but not the vacuum. Back it goes...poo! |

Definitely a welcome addition to my wine accessories...simple enough to use(I can't for the life of me understanding the others that are experiencing difficulty in using this properly!)
Used properly along with a decanting funnel will make the difference between night & day for a red wine right out of the bottle.
Don't pass this up! |

| Product arrived on time, unfortunately DHL soaked the box (looked like it had been floating in a pond). The company was great, got right back to me. Haven't used the product yet, it is a gift, but was pleased with my dealings with them! |
