| I believe I will really enjoy these as soon as I have gathered enough land cards and begin to build my decks. These cards are really neat!! |

I searched Amazon for 'Magic the Gathering' and this popped up and surprised me. I'm here to tell everyone looking at this item that it is totally not worth buying. I've been to large conventions like GenCon and Origins, and they have magic dealers in their dealer rooms selling huge boxes of rares at a quarter each, usually with special offers if you buy either fifty or a hundred rares. These dealers also show up at larger magic tournaments like Grand Prix, Pre-Releases, and Pro-Tour Qualifiers.
Based on the price of this item, it's better picking your own rares out of about a box of 5000 at one of those conventions or larger magic tournaments. And let me tell you, better deals than this are all over ebay. Check there if conventions and such don't fit in your schedule. |

I was getting back into magic after sometime of not playing, so I am not up to date with all the new sets. I figured that if I bought this I would end up with a variety of cards, but I got several duplicates. I was not expecting the most rare of rares from this order. I am disappointed about the fact that the description says all different. Maybe it's a misunderstanding meaning all different sets. Also, like some others said you will get older sets of cards.
I gave 3 stars for the fact that if you are getting back into or adding to a set for the sake of quantity this isn't a bad purchase. If you are expecting super rare of rares then don't get your hopes up.

I'll start by saying read the product descriptor. If you order from the main seller like I did, then expect the unexpected and don't set your hopes on getting any specific card or a card from any specific set. My lot contained 50 cheap rares, no duplicates, and nothing current enough to be played in Type II (Standard). The product description was appropriate, and my hopes were not set so high that I was disappointed by what I received. I found it amusing to look at some of the older cards, and was grateful I didn't end up with multiples of the same cards. I might order this product again some time to see if I end up with different cards.
Product descriptions are key though. If the cards are not specified, then you shouldn't expect too much. Some sellers appear to specify exactly what is contained in their 50 card lot. I would expect any seller to live up to their descriptor, and if you use those as a reference point, you may end up with cards you actually want. |

| I rolled the dice, I got burned. I am writing this review in hopes that I make others think twice that could possibly be fooled by this alluring product. Out of the fifty "rares" i think the newest one was from fallen empires. I realize how silly this seems but at the time I thought it to be a good idea. I think I envisioned me opening this to find a lot of rares but all i found was a sad ball of disappointment that broke my little magic heart. oh well. If you (much like me) fall in to bits of mania driven spending stay clear of this one friend. |
